actually it was melilot who started the buffet thing. once when she was about 8, it was just her and mom for supper. mom was too hot and tired to cook, so mel said, "i'll cook for you. we'll have a buffet." and she laid out yogurt, cheese, fruit, etc.
yeah, once upon a time i ate healthfully. today on the other hand, i had rice, an orange mini-muffin, a chocolate pudding pop, kettlecorn, and a piece of chocolate carmel candy.
I had a bowl of frosted flakes, taco bell nachos (just the little ones), 2 fig newtons, a sandwich and a margarita...Not very healthy, I know. 'cept of course the margarita:P

You fail to mention it was a HUGE hit... not labor intensive maybe... but hey- it's the reaction that counts right??
that sounds like when the girls have a 'buffet' - they get a muffin tin filled with little things like grapes, string cheese, pepperoni slices...
Our muffin tins are rusty, but that would just be extra iron, right?
sometimes meals like that just hit the spot
I should try that- it sounds great! (and really in the summer) I think Aiden might even eat it!
we had buffet tonight and it was great because it was too hot to cook and i wasn't hungry anyways.

well, there's at least 3 food groups there - grains, dairy, and chocolate. and i suppose an orange mini-muffin counts as fruit

i love laughing cow cheese! (that sounds like one of my dinners! but then... i am single;)
but that's true about kids liking the easier things -- like hot dogs, corn dogs, mac & cheese, & slice 'n bake cookies :)
