"Well, we believe that telling our children no when they ask to buy things sends them the wrong message. Telling them no is like saying they don't deserve things. After all, what are parents for if not to make our children's dreams a reality? Nothing should ever be out of their reach."
-Quote from the dumb lady I met at Ikea. Seriously. Dumb.

Wow. How exactly did this come up?
I was looking at something and she commented on how cute it was and I said I agreed, but my kids didn't really need it. Silly me.
Again, wow. All that's wrong in America...
for real? heaven help those deserving children when they discover the real world.
Umm... wow. (Insert shaking head here.)
Could you even come up with a coherent thought to give back to her after such an idiotic comment? Or did you just nod and drop it? I wonder what happens when they truly cannot afford something...they must simply shop-lift. I think you should have turned her into the police...
remind me to never ever ever babysit for her
that almost sounds like a swedish philosophy actually
