Chris bought me a beautiful ring for my birthday, but says he is starting to get concerned about the fact that I keep telling people it was my birthday present. So now I'm just calling it "the precious".
growing up, mel was often called either 'burden' (by broller and me) or 'precious' (also by broller and me, when we were annoyed that she got away with everything). just what, exactly, were we saying about her?
lol...poor mel. The other day someone commented on my ring and instead of saying it was a birthday present I said , "I like the precious, too." The saleslady cracked up and asked, "Did you get it for your birthday?" I love Tolkein fans!
