Nothing Puts You In The Holiday Mood Like... (part two)

Attempting to untangle a dusty, artificial tree that has spent the last year stuffed into a giant plastic bag.

my poor kids are campaigning for a new tree - ours is short and skinny, and showing its years. but i refuse to buy one before Christmas. i'm waiting for the 1/2 price sales

We had a Charlie Brown tree for 2 years before I bought one at an after Christmas sale. So that makes our tree 9 years old this year:)

i hear your frustration about the tree... and mine's new! So it wasn't dusty, but the lights didn't all work. :( And it's a pre-lit tree, so there's not too much I can do about it. :( Especially since I bought it after Christmas at 1/2 price. I just added some of my own lights over the lights that aren't working (it's just one section), but it's annoying cuz it's new. :( So, lesson here: don't buy pre-lit if you can help it (sorry, hobbitsister, I know you already posted about this & I would've told you then but I didn't remember that my tree was pre-lit! I remember not wanting one when I got it, but I think that's almost all they had unless I got one I didn't like). The other lesson here is to inspect your tree soon after you buy it so you can still return it if something's wrong with it. :)

Oh- it used to be worse... used to stuff the tree in a box that was way to small lol.

oy! Thanks for the warning on the pre-lit. We're on hand-me-down tree #2. This one still has all it's parts so it's pretty fancy, but really short, esp with our ceiling. So far it's still standing even with 1 cat and 2 toddlers. Katie and Sisi don't even seem to care! What's with that?

mine's really tall & skinny, & today i saw my brother's, and it's shorter & really fat -- they'd make such a cute couple ;)
